NSIP-Influenced Replacement Ewe Sales are scheduled for 2024 on Production Livestock Auctions!

These online sales will feature commercial replacement ewes that are sired by rams with EBVs from NSIP.  Data will be available on all sires of the lots offered.  Consignments will be open to any producers using rams with EBVs from NSIP wishing to sell replacement ewes into the commercial sector.

What Are EBVs?

EBVs are science-based, industry-tested measurements of heritable traits that can be tracked and measured. For those familiar with Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) used in cattle, EBVs are very similar. EPDs denotes the breeding value of an individual animal’s progeny whereas EBVs denote the value of the individual animal. More simply, EBVs equal EPDs times two.
